Activating an Agent

An agent is activated against a single project. The token is short-lived, easy to type, and tied to your MSP account.

Generate a token

Open the project's Setup step and click Connect Agent. CloudMove generates an 8-character token (letters and digits, no ambiguous characters).

The token stays visible in the dashboard until you close the card. You can always regenerate — each project can have multiple valid tokens at once.

Enter the token

On the agent:

1. Open CloudMove Agent
2. Paste the token into the Activation Token field
3. Optionally set a Name for this installation (useful if you have multiple agents across different networks)
4. Click Activate

Within a few seconds the agent connects and the dashboard shows it as active.

Connection status

Agents appear in the project Setup step with a status badge:

• Active — heartbeating normally (within the last minute)
• Disconnected — no heartbeat for >1 minute
• Revoked — token was manually revoked, agent can no longer reconnect

Reconnecting

If you close the agent and reopen it, it remembers its token and reconnects automatically. You don't need to re-enter the token.

If source folders were already configured, they're restored from the server on reconnection.
